Inkster police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Klink Street between Pierce and Pine streets Thursday. When officers arrived, they heard gunfire, with one shot narrowly missing an officer, officials say. Several law enforcement agencies responded to the scene to assist.

Inkster police are looking for the suspect or suspects who fired at officers early Thursday, officials said. Police chief Tamika Jenkins said the incident happened as officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Klink Street between Pierce and Pine streets near Henry B Ruff Road and Annapolis Avenue.

Shots were fired at Inkster police in the area of Henry Ruff and Andover between Michigan Avenue and Van Born before 6 a.m., leading to a large response from Inkster police, along with Michigan State Police, and other surrounding departments.

Police have a residence in Inkster surrounded after shots were fired at officers. 7 News Detroit has confirmed that 5-6 shots were fired at officers near a home on Klink Street, just north of Pine Street,
