The Devil May Cry video game series was published by Capcom. It focuses on demon hunter Dante, who fights to stop demons from invading Earth. His name is an allusion to Dante Alighieri's 14th-century Italian narrative poem The Divine Comedy. A previous Japanese anime series was based on the show and debuted in 2007.
